With the introduction of LOMA and SOLANA, the brand enters a new chapter – honoring its clog and sandal heritage while evolving with intention for a culturally attuned audience – and continues to inspire with its architecture-inspired design language.

Rooted in the legendary footbed and the brand’s design DNA shaped by Karl Birkenstock, the LOMA and SOLANA reflect a subtle evolution of BIRKENSTOCK’s beloved footwear. Familiar silhouettes are refined through material innovation, tactile closures, and a streamlined, utility-driven aesthetics – reflecting BIRKENSTOCK’s approach to product innovation: evolving craft while preserving identity. Carefully elevated, yet uncompromising in function, the designs remain true to their purpose, empowering people to walk as nature intended.

LOMA. A NEW ERA OF CLOG DESIGN

The LOMA expands the brand’s iconic clog archive with a contemporary closed-toe silhouette that reinterprets decades of shoemaking expertise. Building on the legacy of the BOSTON, first introduced in 1976 and recognized globally for pioneering the closed-toe clog across generations and cultures, the LOMA carries this lineage forward with functional elements and a new look. Defined by clean lines, adjustable hook-and-loop closures, and a minimal aesthetic, the LOMA balances utilitarian style with exceptional performance and expands the brand’s hook-and-loop offering with a select range of new iterations in fresh colorways. Its re-engineered functionality enhances ease of wear, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to intentional design. Available in Dark Tea and Cork Brown, crafted in premium suede, and featuring a lightweight EVA outsole, the LOMA delivers limitless versatility.

SOLANA. UTILITY-INSPIRED FUNCTION

With the SOLANA, BIRKENSTOCK refines the classic slide-in silhouette through a material-first lens. Inspired by the brand’s evolving design language and progressive collaborations, the SOLANA translates utility into understated sophistication. Made from soft suede, the silhouette offers structure, ease, and minimalism in equal measure. Available in light Oyster and the seasonal color highlight Dark Tea, the SOLANA complements the LOMA’s aesthetic while maintaining its own distinct expression of quiet confidence.

The hook-and-loop closure unites the silhouettes, serving as a functional anchor and defining design element. Its highly adjustable fastening system replaces the traditional BIRKENSTOCK metal buckle with a streamlined strap, creating a more minimal aesthetic while allowing for a quick, customizable fit and effortless on-and-off wear.

THE FOOTBED AT HEART

At the core of both silhouettes lies BIRKENSTOCK’s signature anatomically shaped footbed – an innovation that continues to differentiate the brand within the footwear landscape. Engineered to support natural movement, it delivers exceptional functionality, durability, and a naturally supported walking experience, for contemporary footwear consumers.

WHERE CRAFT MEETS RHYTHM

Building on the momentum of the LOMA and SOLANA in 2026, the Hook & Loop campaign positions these silhouettes, alongside seasonal evolutions such as the SYLT, as fresh yet familiar expressions of BIRKENSTOCK’s evolving heritage.

Set within the tactile intimacy of a local music studio in Cape Town, where creativity, craftsmanship, and heritage coexist, the hero film blurs the lines between work and rest. Reflecting the reality of today’s creative community, where home doubles as workspace and self-expression shapes everyday life, footwear becomes more than design. It becomes a steady presence – never rushed, always composed.
