Neustadt (Wied) and Rome, 12/15/2016 – Between the Spanish Steps and the famous Piazza del Popolo, the Eternal City now has another sight of interest: BIRKENSTOCK opened its second official store in Italy here in December (Via del Babuino 165). With more than 230 different models of fashionable sandals, closed-toe shoes, and socks of every BIRKENSTOCK brand, the shop presents customers with a comprehensive selection covering 63 square meters – and it is open seven days a week. A number of highlights from the premium bag collection round out the product range of the internationally popular shoe manufacturer.
The capital city of Rome is more than the political center of Italy: with four million inhabitants it is also the country’s largest urban area and a real cultural hot spot. Thanks to a large number of artistic highlights and sites of global historical interest – including the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and St. Peter’s Basilica – Rome is one of the most visited cities in the world. Every year, almost ten million tourists with a keen interest in culture and shopping flock to the historic city center, which received UNESCO World Cultural Heritage status in 1980.
The trendy Tridente shopping district lives up to Italy’s reputation as a leading country for fashion. In the area between Via del Babuino, Via di Ripetta, and Via del Corso, there are many shops of famous international fashion brands and stylish boutiques that offer everything the heart could desire. The new BIRKENSTOCK store is situated here in a historic building with a design concept that illustrates some of the fascinating contrasts between tradition and trends that characterize the famous shoe manufacturer.
