BIRKENSTOCK New Top Brand at Designer Outlet Roermond

First Foothold in the Netherlands: Outlet store offers discontinued models and seconds at low Prices.

Another shopping highlight now awaits visitors to the largest factory outlet center in the tri-border area where Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium meet: BIRKENSTOCK is opening its first store in the Netherlands, at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Roermond. As a result, Germany’s largest footwear manufacturer is enriching the shopping experience with the premium-quality products of its brands in the sandal, sneaker, closed-toe shoe and children’s shoe segments, as well as its popular EVA models. What’s more, the roughly 80 m² sales floor found in Store Unit AO.68 will be home to a large selection of high-quality socks from the legwear and accessories product segment.

The new BIRKENSTOCK store is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends. But Designer Outlet Roermond doesn’t just offer a unique shopping experience 363 days a year thanks to the long opening hours: located near downtown Roermond, the outlet center has something for everyone by virtue of the numerous cafés and restaurants, a children’s play area, convenient parking and 150 boutiques. Alongside fashion and accessories, shoppers will also find cosmetics, sporting goods, household goods and home decor.

This is reflected in the considerable popularity of the McArthurGlen site in Roermond, which is particularly notable for its comprehensive mix of prestigious premium brands. Since it opened in 2001, the outlet center has gone from strength to strength and now ranks among the top five outlets in Europe, with 5.7 million visitors a year. On account of its strategically excellent location in the Dutch province of Limburg, it boasts one of Europe’s most densely populated catchment areas; not only does it attract visitors from the Netherlands, Belgium and the parts of Germany close to the border, but is also popular among tourists from other countries.

McArthurGlen is Europe’s leading developer and operator of designer outlets, distributing over 750 brands on more than 600,000 m² of sales floor spread among more than 1,800 stores. More than 165 million people live within a 90-minute drive of a McArthurGlen designer outlet. In total, the outlets are visited by more than 110 million people a year.
