BIRKENSTOCK AND ETRO INTRODUCE THEIR NEW COLLABORATION

10.09.2026

First unveiled during the ETRO Fall/Winter 2026 runway show at Milan Fashion Week, the collection now unfolds worldwide, bringing together two heritage houses united by a shared commitment to craftsmanship, authenticity, and enduring design. The partnership creates a dialogue between BIRKENSTOCK’s functional design principles and ETRO’s rich artisanal heritage and bold aesthetic language, resulting in a collection that is distinctive, versatile, and immediately recognizable.

Marking the first release of the collaboration, the collection introduces reimagined interpretations of two iconic BIRKENSTOCK silhouettes: the Boston and the Gizeh. Originally launched in 1976 and celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026, the Boston clog is revisited through ETRO’s unmistakable codes. It is joined by the Gizeh, the thong sandal introduced in 1983, reinterpreted in premium suede and nappa leather.

Throughout the collection, ETRO’s signature codes are seamlessly integrated into BIRKENSTOCK’s iconic silhouettes. Paisley motifs, rich textures, and intricate detailing come to life through embroidered accents, long fringe, custom Western-inspired buckles and exclusive Pegasus-branded rivets. Each style is built around BIRKENSTOCK’s anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed, fully wrapped in tonal leather, combining craftsmanship, functionality, and enduring quality. The design extends to the outsole, where BIRKENSTOCK’s signature bone-pattern tread is elegantly paired with ETRO’s iconic Paisley motif, creating a distinctive signature visible with every step.

A sophisticated palette of taupe and chocolate reflects ETRO’s refined aesthetic, while polished hardware and metallic accents introduce a contemporary edge.

The first chapter of the BIRKENSTOCK by ETRO partnership will be available globally from September 10, 2026, on etro.com and 1774.com, as well as selected ETRO and BIRKENSTOCK boutiques and retail partners worldwide.

Further chapters of the collaboration will be revealed in the coming months.

About BIRKENSTOCK

BIRKENSTOCK is a global brand which embraces all consumers regardless of geography, gender, age and income and which is committed to a clear purpose - maintaining foot health. Function, quality and tradition are the core values of the lifestyle brand which features products in the footwear, sleep systems and natural cosmetics segments. BIRKENSTOCK is the inventor of the footbed and has shaped the principle of walking as intended by nature (“Naturgewolltes Gehen”).
