Select ingredients and unique combinations of active substances with proven benefits form the basis of this innovative care system that consciously does without chemicals. The five closely coordinated care lines will be unveiled at VIVANESS, the International Trade Fair for Natural and Organic Personal Care, in Nuremberg, Germany, from February 15 to 18, 2017 (hall 7A, stand 7A-139). BIRKENSTOCK NATURAL CARE will go on sale internationally in fall 2017.

“As the inventor of the footbed, we have a particularly close connection to personal well-being,” points out Oliver Reichert, CEO of the BIRKENSTOCK Group. “Alongside healthy walking, standing, running, and resting, skin care has a considerable influence on our well-being. The cosmetics industry offers countless products in this area. Unfortunately, however, many of these contain chemical ingredients that can irritate or even damage the skin. This prompted us to start thinking about a healthy product concept in this segment. The result is BIRKENSTOCK NATURAL CARE – genuine natural cosmetics without the use of chemicals.”

Quality and Efficacy

BIRKENSTOCK NATURAL CARE benefits from the pure power of nature and completely forgoes controversial chemical ingredients such as parabens, surfactants, silicones and paraffins – and, of course, uses no animal testing. Many of the products are vegan. All formulas have been dermatologically tested to determine skin tolerability. The efficacy of the active substances has been documented and proven in scientific studies. And a sustainable packaging concept, which includes an intelligent refill system, helps to preserve natural resources.

All 28 care products are certified in accordance with the international BDIH COSMOS NATURAL standard.

Cork – the Main Active Ingredient

Cork – or, to be more precise, the extract taken from the outer layer of the bark of the cork oak – plays a key role in the new BIRKENSTOCK NATURAL CARE range. That’s because it contains suberin, which has a proven lifting effect. Alongside cork oak extract, the active substances system based on these research results comprises other highly effective ingredients such as arctic moss, argan oil, baobab, moringa, elderberry and botanical hyaluronic acid.

BIRKENSTOCK NATURAL CARE products are developed, produced and filled in Germany. For this purpose, BIRKENSTOCK has set up its own natural cosmetics division with experienced experts.
