The new BIRKENSTOCK store in Denmark is located on Copenhagen’s Kronprinsensgade fashion street in the old town of Copenhagen. This popular shopping street is considered to be one of the most prominent and vibrant streets in the Danish capital. BIRKENSTOCK customers can browse the extensive product range over a total floor area of 90 square meters. For the first time ever, there is a choice of more than 250 styles for the Danish cusomers, including sandals and closed shoes for women, men, and kids, as well as BIRKENSTOCK bags, belts, legwear, and accessories. The BIRKENSTOCK Natural Skin Care line is also available with a range of hand- and foot-care products.

“Copenhagen is simply one of the trendsetting cities in the fashion world. Thanks to our first official brand store in the country, we are now able to offer the largest BIRKENSTOCK selection in Denmark. Thus we will be in a better position to present all facets of our premium lifestyle brand. In particular, great sales potential can be expected for the product categories closed shoes, children’s shoes, legwear, and accessories,” explains Per Friis, Managing Director of BIRKENSTOCK Denmark. 

Per Friis is responsible for the management of the corporate entity in Copenhagen. He heads a five-member team and benefits from around 25 years of industry experience in the fashion and lifestyle sector. After having founded a number of companies and stores for the distribution of selected streetwear in Denmark and Scandinavia, Per Friis joined the Spanish shoe manufacturer Camper. In his most recent position at Camper he acted as account manager for Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. In this role he was responsible for all clients in the Scandinavian markets.

BIRKENSTOCK recently took the strategic decision to take over distribution directly in Denmark, after being represented in this market by a local business partner for about the last 15 years. Based on the well-established popularity of the classic sandals, the company will now start to introduce all other product categories offered by the brand. In addition to the formerly strong focus on spring and summer articles, special attention will be placed on all-year articles from the portfolio.
