BIRKENSTOCK OPENS A NEW DIRECTLY OPERATED STORE IN IKEBUKURO

At Birkenstock, the purpose is to support foot health around the world and enable walking as nature intended. With the opening of a new directly operated store in Ikebukuro—the fourth in Tokyo—the brand continues to expand opportunities for customers to immerse themselves in the brand and experience its products firsthand.

Anchored by Birkenstock original anatomically shaped footbed, the store presents a comprehensive range of styles, from iconic sandals to clogs and closed shoes. As a directly operated location, it showcases the breadth and depth of the collection, reflecting the full expression of the brand.

This new opening marks the brand’s 11th store in Japan and its fourth in Tokyo. Located inside Ikebukuro PARCO, directly connected to Ikebukuro Station—one of the world’s largest transportation hubs—the store offers exceptional accessibility and creates a new opportunity to experience BIRKENSTOCK footwear in an urban context.

The store design harmonizes the historical character of Ikebukuro with the brand’s philosophy. Inspired by the concept of a biotope, the space incorporates gently curved forms and fixtures crafted from warm, natural materials. Organic plaster walls and rounded cork display tables enhance the quality and materiality of the products, while evoking both the brand’s commitment to natural movement and the memory of the ponds that once defined the Ikebukuro area.

The store offers a full lineup to suit diverse lifestyles and occasions, including popular sandal and clog silhouettes, an extensive selection of shoes, original shoe care products designed to prolong product life, and CARE ESSENTIALS—a foot and body care line made from 100% naturally derived ingredients.

At the BIRKENSTOCK Ikebukuro PARCO store, customers are invited to discover products that support their everyday steps and connect them more closely to natural movement.
