Paris & New York, January 2026 – BIRKENSTOCK, the global footbed brand with over 250 years of shoemaking heritage and revered for its legendary anatomically contoured cork-latex footbed, unites with New York City– based bridal house Danielle Frankel to unveil a limited-edition collection that reimagines the brand’s timeless design approach.
An ode to life’s most cherished occasions, the two brands present a meticulously crafted capsule of four BIRKENSTOCK classics as well as two custom styles exclusive to Danielle Frankel. All six iconic footwear styles are reworked in lustrous fabrics, exquisite materials, and refined details that nod to the designer’s bridal collections.
Launched in 1963 as BIRKENSTOCK’s first sandal, the Madrid features slender ties that highlight its minimalist lines and timeless silhouette. the iconic Arizona is rendered in pure white satin with rhythmic pearls. This also comes in a sleek black unisex edition that pares back the beloved two-strap sandal. Delicate pearls are strung around the Tulum sandal’s elegant crossover profile, which tapers out to a slingback strap.
Exclusive to Danielle Frankel are two customizable, handcrafted styles that stand as the collection’s centerpieces, embodying its most elevated expression of craftsmanship and artistry. This includes a hand-painted boston clog and an arizona sandal hand-embroidered with wispy chiffon blooms. At the core of each design, the original BIRKENSTOCK cork-latex footbed nests the foot. The collection runs from sizes EU 35 to EU 42, while the black satin Arizona extends to EU 47.
A long-time BIRKENSTOCK customer and founder of her namesake label, Danielle Frankel Hirsch has designed the capsule as a considered study of the shoemaker’s icons drawn from a repertoire of more than 700 silhouettes. Each piece is rooted in BIRKENSTOCK’s genuine purpose: to enable walking as nature intended. In doing so, she has employed artisanal techniques from her New York City atelier to imbue the collaboration with the label’s sophisticated bridal codes. Sumptuous pearls, handworked cording, and trim details add romantic touches to the collection. Each shoe is crafted within BIRKENSTOCK’s specialist german factories to the highest standards of execution and undergoes rigorous quality checks, honoring a shared passion for traditional craftsmanship between the brands. A bespoke floral motif is debossed into the sole as an imprint of Danielle Frankel’s whimsical spirit.
Captured in Paris by photographer Stas Komarovski, the campaign recreates an intimate salon of high artistry. Nostalgic tones, choreographed guests, and poised looks give the imagery a cinematic feel. Footwear is paired with Danielle Frankel’s bridal gowns – sculptural, fluid, and ornate – created to harmonize with the footwear.
