Berlin Fashion Week: BIRKENSTOCK heralds buying season for fall/winter 2017

Appearances at the PREMIUM, SEEK and PANORAMA shows // For fall/winter 2017, BIRKENSTOCK is taking its design inspiration from the primeval nature of the four elements.

As the international fashion world comes together in Berlin from January 17 to 19, BIRKENSTOCK is unveiling its collection at three trade shows in the city. Alongside appearances at the PREMIUM and SEEK fashion shows, the traditional family company is also returning to PANORAMA, where it will showcase its legwear and accessories collection. Fire, earth, water, air – the 2017 fall/winter collection is a journey through the four basic elements.

When developing the 2017/2018 fall/winter collection, the creative minds of the German shoe manufacturer were guided by a common vision: inspiration from the primeval quality of Mother Nature and the four elements. The interplay of fire, earth, water, and air, and the natural, high-quality raw materials that are typical of BIRKENSTOCK result in a harmonious collection that emphasizes a lot of exciting, fashionable features and shows new facets of the global brand. The new models feature a harmonious mix of materials consisting of leather, fur, and wool felt, as well as functional high-tech materials. The product range was also significantly expanded in the legwear and accessories segment. For the first time, BIRKENSTOCK is also offering products for children in the 2017/18 fall/winter season.

As the fifth element and overarching theme this coming winter, BIRKENSTOCK will be focusing on the look and philosophy of the Inuit, the indigenous people of the Arctic, with their ancient, close-to-nature way of life. The people, who live in harmony with the elements, represent a conscious, sustainable interaction with nature and its raw materials – values that also determine the actions of BIRKENSTOCK and which are reflected in its products.

The stand at PREMIUM features not only sandals and closed-toe shoes from the 2017 fall/winter collection, but also highlights from the legwear and accessories collection (hall 5, stand F02). With its exciting brand environment, SEEK gives BIRKENSTOCK an opportunity to showcase its collection in a contemporary setting. As a result, the company decided to increase the size of its stand to 53.5m². Here, it will be presenting a selection of seasonal highlights, clearly illustrating the fashionable shift and the aim behind the collection (hall: Arena, stand D-13). For the first time, BIRKENSTOCK will be presenting its entire legwear and accessories collection at PANORAMA, thereby taking its place in a coherent brand portfolio focusing on denim, contemporary and lifestyle items (hall 9, NOVA CONCEPT, stand 9.02.2).
