I oversee the company’s sales activities in the markets France, Italy, Portugal and Malta. My responsibilities include boosting the company’s market presence in the various countries or to improve the sales process in general. It’s also very important that we meet the needs of the various stores and types of buyer as best we can. More than anything else, this means getting the products into the right sales channel at just the right time in each market. To achieve this, I coordinate the necessary processes with Production, Logistics, and our customers.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: You automatically develop a sense of commitment based on the great tasks and responsibilities assigned to you, and you then grow with your responsibilities. With the company currently undergoing such rapid development, I find the work environment very exciting.

My favorite model: The suede Zürich. This shoe has a very particular look. For me, its timeless design makes it both classic and modern. In addition, suede and the color taupe are currently all the rage.

I am taking a dual studies course with BIRKENSTOCK with the focus on logistics management. My first work placement is therefore directly at the logistics plant in Vettelschoß, where I am gaining an insight into the various processes during my first practical training period. This gives me a better understanding of the actual day-to-day work behind all the technical terms. I will steadily work my way around all the different stations of a logistics department before I get my bachelor’s degree. This will give me the full picture of everything from incoming goods and export to supply chain planning. The practical insights complement the business administration courses at the European University of Applied Sciences in Brühl nicely. For me, this is the perfect way to start my career!

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK:
I felt comfortable here right from the start. Throughout the company, I encounter people who are open to talking and I feel right at home here. So I enjoy going to work, even though I have to get up very early in the morning.

My favorite model:
The Gizeh in brown natural leather. It’s simply a great, airy summer shoe that you can slip on quickly.

I am responsible for the entire production division’s investment budget. It’s primarily a question of planning and realizing investments correctly so that the technical production infrastructure doesn’t become outdated. My knowledge of mechanical engineering means I can assess the benefits that innovations in the field of automation technology can offer the company. I am assisted with this by my team, which consists of engineers and technicians. Thanks to ongoing exchange with the technical service staff at our sites, I am also always in the know regarding our current equipment needs. This allows me to ideally pave the way for the necessary modernizations and make us competitive.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I like working for a medium-sized enterprise that produces brand name products which are very popular and in great demand all over the world. My international area of responsibility offers me a great deal of freedom and creative free rein. I also get a lot of satisfaction out of my constructive interactions with my team and my other colleagues.

My favorite model: It's the Arizona with an oiled leather upper. As the surface is untreated, each shoe develops its own characteristic look over time. I have been wearing this model for quite some time now, as it’s so comfy – and I am now totally trendy as a result, too.

I’m a Technical Developer, ensuring that our design ideas become real shoes. On the path from prototype to fully developed product, there are a lot of aspects that have to be balanced. So I have to understand the requirements of both sides, both production and design, and follow the entire development process. For the development of prototypes in our growing line of closed shoes, I work especially closely with my colleagues and the manufacturers in Portugal.

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I’m originally from Japan, but I moved to Germany to become a master orthopedic shoemaker. Since finishing my shoe design studies at Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion and the master craftsman examination in Germany, BIRKENSTOCK has consistently provided me with exciting tasks that require a technical solution.

My favorite model: At the moment is the Estevan, a closed shoe. After recently completing development of this shoe, I now wear it all the time – it’s absolutely comfortable!

I work at the Bernstadt location in the Linings, Punching and Stamping department. This is where all of the necessary information is stamped on the footbed so our customers can find exactly the right shoe for them. As team leader, I coordinate the work processes of 33 employees and I constantly need to find quick solutions to ensure that the production process is seamless. This makes it possible to produce our shoes as fast as possible, which ultimately benefits our customers. 

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I’ve worked at a well-known German company for more than 25 years. I’m always happy to see people on the street wearing our excellent products. But what I find really nice is that I can always offer my own ideas for improving daily work. I did this recently during the reorganization of our product area into production lines. 

My favorite model: Is the Dorothy sandal in black. It’s a light summer shoe that you can also wear when you go out. I also like the Sofia model. I find the soft footbed incorporated in the sole particularly comfortable.

I work in Novato, California, and I just celebrated my 20th anniversary at BIRKENSTOCK USA. I started as a store manager, then became a brand manager and for the past five years I’ve been Director of Product Merchandising. In this position, I’m responsible for ensuring that our products meet the market requirements in the US. At the same time, I have to make sure that our collection always fits well with the brand, that it is in keeping with the latest trends and that it is financially successful as well.

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: Because I know that our products improve the lives of many people over the long term I really enjoy what I do each and every day.

My favorite model: For me, the Arizona is a technical and design marvel. With its simple, clear lines it looks great. And many people will find the unique strap design to be the ideal complement to their style. We offer our customers shoes that both look good and are good for them.

I am a working student in the Event Marketing department. I assist my department with all the tasks that need to be seen to, from event planning to implementation, to make sure that everything runs smoothly and the events are a success. For the big events, I often handle specific areas, while in the case of smaller events, I am sometimes allowed to realize them essentially on my own after consultation. The highlight for me so far was our appearance at Paris Fashion Week. I was responsible for planning the logistics processes, coordinating the service providers, and managing the collection stocks in Paris. 

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK:I was incorporated into the team’s activities fully right from the start. On my second day, I found myself working at a trade fair already and I was allowed to handle many things independently even during my mandatory internship for my study course. I get to go to a lot of places and have the opportunity to be involved in interesting events. 

My favorite model: The premium model Arizona Leathersole in anthracite. The footbed of this sandal is covered in leather, too, so the sandals look extra stylish, feel especially comfortable and also fit my favorite color.

I am Senior Product Manager Classic at the BIRKENSTOCK office in Cologne. My most import role is to lead the design and product development efforts for the BIRKENSTOCK Classic line for women and men. Thus I am responsible for strategically expanding the product range. This means I have to develop various offerings for our customers in suitable price categories and designs. New models have to be appealing for our distribution points, the loyal customers as well as the new ones.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: The position I currently hold gives me the ideal chance to combine my professional background as an industrial footwear designer, orthopedic device specialist and product manager in the fast fashion sector. Therefore I have the right feeling within the product development process to perfectly balance the aspects of design and functionality. In this way I can help many people to achieve their personal well-being through my daily work.

My favorite model: Zurich! The ideal combination between the open and the closed sandal.

I am head of Business Development at Birkenstock Digital in Munich. My team and I are responsible for ensuring that our customers around the world can buy our entire product range from our online shop. This involves our working closely with the digital teams in New York and Tokyo. In addition to this being highly enjoyable, we are able to learn a great deal from one another and therefore to help each other improve.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: Our work is very agile and global, and we are continuously realizing exciting projects. No two days are the same. I also think the brand is great – it’s made for both young and old, and is worn everywhere, from Sydney and Hong Kong to Vancouver. I had my first Birkenstocks at the age of four.

My favorite model: It's the Madrid, because it comes in a variety of materials and colors, such as the conventional look in leather or the Shiny Snake design made of Birko-Flor. This gives me just the right shoe for every outfit.
