I work at the Bernstadt location in the Linings, Punching and Stamping department. This is where all of the necessary information is stamped on the footbed so our customers can find exactly the right shoe for them. As team leader, I coordinate the work processes of 33 employees and I constantly need to find quick solutions to ensure that the production process is seamless. This makes it possible to produce our shoes as fast as possible, which ultimately benefits our customers. 

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I’ve worked at a well-known German company for more than 25 years. I’m always happy to see people on the street wearing our excellent products. But what I find really nice is that I can always offer my own ideas for improving daily work. I did this recently during the reorganization of our product area into production lines. 

My favorite model: Is the Dorothy sandal in black. It’s a light summer shoe that you can also wear when you go out. I also like the Sofia model. I find the soft footbed incorporated in the sole particularly comfortable.

As an expansion project manager in the retail area, I oversee the creation of new retail space – from the conclusion of the rental agreement to the opening of the store. In doing so, I plan the expansion of our own stores. But I also oversee the integration of the BIRKENSTOCK store concept in the stores of our franchise partners. Thanks to the strong growth we’ve been experiencing, I frequently visit German and international stores. I’m responsible for coordinating with the architects and carrying out all other duties that arise until the final building inspection is conducted.

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK:
When I started, I was initially responsible for coordinating branch orders. Within a year, however, I was taking on increasingly more responsibility. Then I had the opportunity to switch to project management.

My favorite model:
Is the Bartlett sneaker. It’s both sporty and chic. You can wear it year-round. I like the black or white version of this shoe the best. They’re the most versatile.

As a Junior Product Manager in Legwear & Accessories, I ensure the continuous development of the collection in this product area. In addition to socks, the collection also includes, for example, scarves, caps and bags. After the decision regarding the new designs has been made, I see to it that our sales department is provided with the collection and sales patterns. In order to process the subsequent orders, I work closely with our procurement department and the sales force. 

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: The flat hierarchies ensure a pleasant work atmosphere. If there are questions, everyone is always helpful. Being part of the creation of a collection right from the start is not only enormously interesting, but also a lot of fun! 

My favorite model: at the moment are all of the “Fashion Fade” products in the current autumn/winter collection in the Legwear & Accessories department. In addition to knee-high socks, this also includes ankle warmers, caps and scarves.

I oversee the company’s sales activities in Southern Europe. My responsibilities include boosting the company’s market presence in the various countries by organizing events involving retailers or by maintaining contact with key customers. To improve the sales process in general, it’s also very important that we meet the needs of the various stores and types of buyer as best we can. More than anything else, this means getting the products into the right sales channel at just the right time in each market. To achieve this, I coordinate the necessary processes with Production, Logistics, and our customers.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: You automatically develop a sense of commitment based on the great responsibility assigned to you, and you then grow with your responsibilities. With the company currently undergoing such rapid development, I find the work environment very exciting.

My favorite model: The suede Zürich. This shoe has a very particular look. For me, its timeless design makes it both classic and modern. In addition, suede and the color taupe are currently all the rage.

I work in the Process and Data Management department at the production plant in Görlitz. I assist the production areas with their day-to-day work with SAP. For example, I make sure the master data is entered correctly and I correct mistakes that might happen when goods movements are logged. Our data analysis helps us improve the production workflows. Due to the company’s growth, the processes and the data are increasing, too. And those have not only to be combined correctly but also monitored precisely.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK:Our department hasn’t been around for all that long so the workflows aren’t too rigid yet. I see this as quite a challenge because it means I can play my part in implementing new processes and developing new solutions together with my team. This motivates me again and again and it allows me to gather a great deal of valuable experience.

My favorite model:The classic Arizona. This elegant sandal goes with any outfit and it comes in all sorts of different combinations, so there’s something suitable for every occasion. In summer, I especially like to wear the trendy metallic version. And in winter, my preference is the Arizona with a lambskin footbed together with a pair of our BIRKENSTOCK socks.

I work in Novato, California, and I just celebrated my 20th anniversary at BIRKENSTOCK USA. I started as a store manager, then became a brand manager and for the past five years I’ve been Director of Product Merchandising. In this position, I’m responsible for ensuring that our products meet the market requirements in the US. At the same time, I have to make sure that our collection always fits well with the brand, that it is in keeping with the latest trends and that it is financially successful as well.

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: Because I know that our products improve the lives of many people over the long term I really enjoy what I do each and every day.

My favorite model: For me, the Arizona is a technical and design marvel. With its simple, clear lines it looks great. And many people will find the unique strap design to be the ideal complement to their style. We offer our customers shoes that both look good and are good for them.

I am responsible for the entire production division’s investment budget. It’s primarily a question of planning and realizing investments correctly so that the technical production infrastructure doesn’t become outdated. My knowledge of mechanical engineering means I can assess the benefits that innovations in the field of automation technology can offer the company. I am assisted with this by my team, which consists of engineers and technicians. Thanks to ongoing exchange with the technical service staff at our sites, I am also always in the know regarding our current equipment needs. This allows me to ideally pave the way for the necessary modernizations and make us competitive.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I like working for a medium-sized enterprise that produces brand name products which are very popular and in great demand all over the world. My international area of responsibility offers me a great deal of freedom and creative free rein. I also get a lot of satisfaction out of my constructive interactions with my team and my other colleagues.

My favorite model: It's the Arizona with an oiled leather upper. As the surface is untreated, each shoe develops its own characteristic look over time. I have been wearing this model for quite some time now, as it’s so comfy – and I am now totally trendy as a result, too.

I am a trainee industrial clerk at BIRKENSTOCK. My training gives me the opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes in a number of departments within the company and to then ultimately specialize in the area I enjoy the most. I am therefore getting to know pretty much all of the company’s processes, from materials purchasing and production planning to the marketing and export of our shoes.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: It is a global enterprise. As I am personally interested in Japan, I am especially interested in the company’s developments in the Asian markets. Once I have completed my training, I would like to work internationally, contribute my language skills, and interact with customers and coworkers around the world.

My favorite model: Our classic model, the Arizona. I see it as a faithful friend throughout the year, whether you wear it barefoot in summer or together with our woolen socks in winter. I especially like the metallic designs.

I am head of Business Development at Birkenstock Digital in Munich. My team and I are responsible for ensuring that our customers around the world can buy our entire product range from our online shop. This involves our working closely with the digital teams in New York and Tokyo. In addition to this being highly enjoyable, we are able to learn a great deal from one another and therefore to help each other improve.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: Our work is very agile and global, and we are continuously realizing exciting projects. No two days are the same. I also think the brand is great – it’s made for both young and old, and is worn everywhere, from Sydney and Hong Kong to Vancouver. I had my first Birkenstocks at the age of four.

My favorite model: It's the Madrid, because it comes in a variety of materials and colors, such as the conventional look in leather or the Shiny Snake design made of Birko-Flor. This gives me just the right shoe for every outfit.
