I work in Novato, California, and I just celebrated my 20th anniversary at BIRKENSTOCK USA. I started as a store manager, then became a brand manager and for the past five years I’ve been Director of Product Merchandising. In this position, I’m responsible for ensuring that our products meet the market requirements in the US. At the same time, I have to make sure that our collection always fits well with the brand, that it is in keeping with the latest trends and that it is financially successful as well.

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: Because I know that our products improve the lives of many people over the long term I really enjoy what I do each and every day.

My favorite model: For me, the Arizona is a technical and design marvel. With its simple, clear lines it looks great. And many people will find the unique strap design to be the ideal complement to their style. We offer our customers shoes that both look good and are good for them.

I am Senior Product Manager Classic at the BIRKENSTOCK office in Cologne. My most import role is to lead the design and product development efforts for the BIRKENSTOCK Classic line for women and men. Thus I am responsible for strategically expanding the product range. This means I have to develop various offerings for our customers in suitable price categories and designs. New models have to be appealing for our distribution points, the loyal customers as well as the new ones.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: The position I currently hold gives me the ideal chance to combine my professional background as an industrial footwear designer, orthopedic device specialist and product manager in the fast fashion sector. Therefore I have the right feeling within the product development process to perfectly balance the aspects of design and functionality. In this way I can help many people to achieve their personal well-being through my daily work.

My favorite model: Zurich! The ideal combination between the open and the closed sandal.

I’m a shift leader in the Foot Form-Sole department at the Görlitz location. In order to ensure error-free production I need to know the special processes behind the production of BIRKENSTOCK footbeds precisely. I’m the first point of contact for production employees if they have questions about individual work steps. To ensure seamless processes during my shift I also carry out staff scheduling and inspect our production equipment.  

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I work for a financially sound company that produces excellent products. I am also able to offer my own ideas and am in contact with many different people.

My favorite model: I’m particularly fond of the Pasadena low shoe. It has a timeless look. But it also has an edgy style thanks to the blue, white and red versions.

I am head of Business Development at Birkenstock Digital in Munich. My team and I are responsible for ensuring that our customers around the world can buy our entire product range from our online shop. This involves our working closely with the digital teams in New York and Tokyo. In addition to this being highly enjoyable, we are able to learn a great deal from one another and therefore to help each other improve.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: Our work is very agile and global, and we are continuously realizing exciting projects. No two days are the same. I also think the brand is great – it’s made for both young and old, and is worn everywhere, from Sydney and Hong Kong to Vancouver. I had my first Birkenstocks at the age of four.

My favorite model: It's the Madrid, because it comes in a variety of materials and colors, such as the conventional look in leather or the Shiny Snake design made of Birko-Flor. This gives me just the right shoe for every outfit.

I work at the Bernstadt location in the Linings, Punching and Stamping department. This is where all of the necessary information is stamped on the footbed so our customers can find exactly the right shoe for them. As team leader, I coordinate the work processes of 33 employees and I constantly need to find quick solutions to ensure that the production process is seamless. This makes it possible to produce our shoes as fast as possible, which ultimately benefits our customers. 

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I’ve worked at a well-known German company for more than 25 years. I’m always happy to see people on the street wearing our excellent products. But what I find really nice is that I can always offer my own ideas for improving daily work. I did this recently during the reorganization of our product area into production lines. 

My favorite model: Is the Dorothy sandal in black. It’s a light summer shoe that you can also wear when you go out. I also like the Sofia model. I find the soft footbed incorporated in the sole particularly comfortable.

I am a Web analyst and search engine advertising manager at Birkenstock digital. Working in our Munich office, I analyze visits to the online shop pages in more than 20 countries. This allows me to determine how satisfied the customers are with our shop. I am also always looking for ways to improve it. What’s especially important here is the main way in which the customers end up on the website and the items or content that they are most interested in. There are different preferences here in each of the various countries, and we obviously try to reflect these as best we can in what we offer. As any changes we make affect user behavior almost in real time, precise coordination ahead of the changes with a large number of other divisions within the company is crucial.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I like working at BIRKENSTOCK because I can very much relate to what the brand stands for. Natural materials and a healthy lifestyle are things that matter to me. I also have nice colleagues who contribute the expertise they have gathered during their various career steps to our joint projects. And even with this wealth of experience, there is nonetheless a definite start-up spirit at work.

My favorite model: I already owned a pair of classic Arizonas when I joined BIRKENSTOCK. Since then, I’ve bought other models, too – in light brown natural leather, in blue Birko-Flor, and a very stylish bright orange pair made of EVA. And the best thing is that I can wear these shoes to work every day.

As a deputy shift manager within the EVA Presses department at the Görlitz production plant, I have to know the workings of our production machinery like the back of my hand. Because when there’s a problem in the production process, things have to happen quickly, otherwise production will come to a standstill. My responsibilities also include shift planning. For this, I have to stay abreast not only of our production capacity utilization, but also of our stringent quality standards.










Why I like working at BIRKENSTOCK:
I like working for a company with such a long tradition and with products that focus on health and comfort. I also like the way we all work together. I talk to a lot of my coworkers on a daily basis and I’m happy to be able to help them.

My favorite model:
For me, the EVA Arizona in Scuba Blue is simply the perfect all-rounder. In the summer in particular, it can be worn on all kinds of occasions and is pleasantly light. This sandal even makes you look really stylish on the beach.

As a Junior Product Manager in Legwear & Accessories, I ensure the continuous development of the collection in this product area. In addition to socks, the collection also includes, for example, scarves, caps and bags. After the decision regarding the new designs has been made, I see to it that our sales department is provided with the collection and sales patterns. In order to process the subsequent orders, I work closely with our procurement department and the sales force. 

My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: The flat hierarchies ensure a pleasant work atmosphere. If there are questions, everyone is always helpful. Being part of the creation of a collection right from the start is not only enormously interesting, but also a lot of fun! 

My favorite model: at the moment are all of the “Fashion Fade” products in the current autumn/winter collection in the Legwear & Accessories department. In addition to knee-high socks, this also includes ankle warmers, caps and scarves.

I am a BIRKENSTOCK store manager and I oversee the day-to-day activities at the store in Hamburg. My responsibilities include giving our customers in-depth advice so that they leave the store with the best possible fit and just the right shoe. I am also responsible for managing the employees and motivating them by means of staff appraisals, and for optimum staff scheduling. I am always here for the staff if they wish to talk about something and it’s very important to me that there’s a pleasant atmosphere within the team. Because that’s something our customers pick up on, too. I also see to it that the store looks appealing and that the products are perfectly presented in the selling space.










My advantage at BIRKENSTOCK: I like working at BIRKENSTOCK because I grew up with the brand and can very much relate to it. When selling our products, I’m always delighted when I’m able to convince others of the excellent comfort of our shoes.

My favorite model: Definitely the Arizona! There are some other models I like, too, of course, but the Arizona is definitely way out in front. It’s available in so many different colors that you can never have enough of them. My latest buy was the BIRKENSTOCK x Colette Arizona Polka Dots Blue – I absolutely love it!
