Now there’s a new magnet for visitors to the Centro shopping mall: BIRKENSTOCK opened its new brand store in Oberhausen at the end of September, offering both classic models and highlights from the latest autumn/winter collection. In addition to timeless sandals, the product range also includes sneakers, closed shoes, children’s shoes, the popular EVA models, socks and a selection from the new bag collection. The 66-square meter retail space offers a total of more than 300 different models from Germany’s largest shoe manufacturer.

The 13 official BIRKENSTOCK stores in Germany are located squarely in the center of the Ruhr: The fifth largest metropolitan region in Europe has a population of 5.1 million people. With its extensive leisure and tourism offering, the largest shopping center in Europe attracts an average of 80,000 visitors to Oberhausen daily. More than 250 retail shops and a total area of 119,000 square meters provide the ideal environment for the perfect fashion, trend and lifestyle shopping experience. And BIRKENSTOCK is now rounding out its selection for end customers to include its fashion highlights: The shop, which is located in space B009 on the ground floor, has an exciting selection of the company’s premium products for all shoppers.

The opening of the brand store in Oberhausen is in keeping with the BIRKENSTOCK strategy of a modest expansion of its own retail shops. This strategy is part of a comprehensive sales quality offensive that the company is using to familiarize end customers and specialist retail partners with the numerous positive changes to the collection and the presentation of the brand at the point of sale. BIRKENSTOCK currently operates a total of 36 brand stores around the world.

The design of the new BIRKENSTOCK store is in line with the concept of a uniform store look that was introduced globally. Construction of the new store involves only high-quality materials, mainly from natural sources, that are also used in the company’s shoes and sandals – leather, natural cork and wool felt. In addition, a large concrete footprint framed with leather on one of the side walls is a reminder of the origins of the renowned company: the invention of the footbed.
