The jury of the ‘freundin perfect piece award’ discussed, tried on and compared more than 1,000 individual fashion articles from 100 different labels. The verdict: “Bartlett”, a model from the BIRKENSTOCK SHOES collection, is one of the perfect pieces for the coming winter. The trendy casual shoes won the award in the category ‘sneakers’. The jury chose a total of 29 ‘perfect pieces’ in the categories– trousers, jackets, bags, accessories and shoes. With this fashion award, ‘freundin’, the prominent German women’s magazine, recommends pieces with a convincing mix of trendiness, quality and suitability for everyday use. For BIRKENSTOCK, this is the second award in series. This spring, Germany’s most prominent footwear manufacturer won the award in the category ‘Trendy sandals’ – for a stylish re-interpretation of the classic, ‘Gizeh’ thong sandal in a spectacular, gold-metallic look.

The focus of the ‘freundin perfect piece award’ is set entirely on the products. The properties of the pieces are what count, not the label. In this, quality and comfort play a particularly decisive role. Simultaneously, the ‘perfect pieces’ must also reflect the essence of the latest seasonal trends. Or, as the editorial department at ‘freundin’ says: ‘It’s all about fashion that is exceptionally comfortable to wear and makes the women who wear it perfectly dressed.’ The ‘perfect piece’ models are determined by a jury with members from the magazine’s editorial department, well-known faces and a magazine reader. Since 2013, the constantly changing members of the jury get together twice a year to choose the most beautiful pieces for the next season. This year, Nikolaus Albrecht, editor-in-chief at ‘freundin’, and Jana Gutsche, fashion editor of the women’s magazine were joined on the jury by actress Jana Ina Zarrella, fashion-designer Thomas Rath and a reader of the magazine.
