BIRKENSTOCK opens in the heart of Vienna

The long-standing company will open the doors of the store in Kärntner Strasse for the first time on October 24

Germany's largest footwear manufacturer is taking its famous footbed to the heart of the world city of Vienna. The new BIRKENSTOCK brand store is opening at one of the city’s top addresses, at Kärntner Strasse 36, on October 24, 2019. Aficionados of the renowned long-standing brand will henceforth be able to immerse themselves in the comprehensive product universe of the German family-owned enterprise that revolves around quality and well-being in Vienna’s top shopping street, right by the world-famous Hotel Sacher and just a stone’s throw from the Vienna State Opera.

Vienna has been one of Europe’s cultural hotspots for years, boasting close to two million inhabitants and around eight million tourists every year. The capital of Austria is justifiably considered to be one of the most popular cities in the world and has been named the global city with the best quality of life for the tenth consecutive time in the renowned Mercer study.

The new store in this top inner-city location means BIRKENSTOCK not only benefits from the high footfall in the heart of the city, but is also able to further expand its presence in Vienna. At the same time, the overhauled store fitting concept, which reflects the brand’s traditionally close relationship with nature with its main materials being cork, leather, and felt, gives the high-quality lifestyle label a modern look.

The knowledgeable sales staff on the exclusive 50 m² sales floor are there to assist the ever-growing BIRKENSTOCK fan base with choosing just the right product. In addition to long-standing classics like the Arizona, Madrid, or Gizeh, visitors to the store can naturally also expect to see the current season’s top sellers. Sandals and shoes for women, men, and children as well as models suitable for the beach made from waterproof EVA can be discovered, tried on, and purchased at the customers’ leisure, as can a selection from the Professional line and the sock and belt product lines. The BIRKENSTOCK Natural Skin Care range of natural cosmetics is also available at the new store.

On opening day, the first 50 customers will receive BIRKENSTOCK goody bags as a welcoming gift, filled among other things with moisturizing foot balm, luxury sample moisturizing eye contour balm, BIRKENSTOCK leg warmers, and a gift certificate. And for anyone wishing to finish their day in a laid-back atmosphere, there will be refreshing cocktails and live DJ sounds at the store opening event from 5 p.m.
