BIRKENSTOCK AND RICK OWENS EXTEND THEIR SECOND SEASON COLLABORATION

Premiering Women's Styles At The Spring/Summer 2019 Rick Owens Womenswear Show

Following the successful launch of the first collection and its global premier with the BIRKENSTOCK BOX in Los Angeles, the collaboration between Birkenstock and Rick Owens extends to a second season with women’s styles debuting during Paris Women’s Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2019.

Season one focused on ‘disrupting’ BIRKENSTOCK iconic styles: the Arizona and Madrid sandals, and the Boston clog.

The second season was introduced on the runway at the Rick Owens Spring / Summer 2019 Men’s show in June. It now follows by the incorporation of the women’s styles for all 41 Looks of the Designers Spring / Summer 2019 womenswear runway show.

This time focusing on new styles, Rick Owens delivers his take on the ROTTERDAM sandal and the ROTTERHIKER boot.

Prominent design details of the Rotterhiker Boot include a metal buckle on the upper strap for easy fastening as well as a different colored logo strap. The beige Rotterhiker is constructed of velour leather, while the black is composed of oiled nubuck leather. A translucent rubber sole, featuring the original BIRKENSTOCK footbed finishes the style.

The Rotterdam styles feature a strap in the front, with a different colored and extended logo strap. The upper strap incorporates a metal squeeze buckle closure. The EVA outer sole is the same colorway as the cork sole and blends seamlessly with the footbed.

All bespoke BIRKENSTOCK x Rick Owens styles will be available from January 2019.
